Join God working in the Victor Community!

Our hearts and hands reach out locally and globally. Our community of faith is involved with outreach in many ways:

We are a Host Congregation for Family Promise of Ontario County.

Host Congregations will  furnish clean, safe, overnight lodging and nutritious meals for 3-4 families (14 people, maximum) for one week at a time, four times a year. During Host Week, other congregations and community organizations may provide additional volunteers to support the Host Congregation -- making healthy breakfasts and dinners, playing with the children or helping them with homework and talking with parents after a long day.

Families will be taken between the Day Center and the Host Congregations in a van owned by FPOC. The congregations provide food and a safe place to stay for the evening along with volunteer companions.

During the Host Week, there are approximately 50 slots for volunteers.  Volunteers come from Host, Support and Friend Congregations and are assigned duties by the Host and Support Coordinators.

We support the Victor/Farmington Food Cupboard with food donations as well the annual fundraising event to support those who are hungry in the local Victor/Farmington area.

We have a Clothes Closet to shop for free clothing, etc. (In conjunction with the Victor/Farmington Food Cupboard.)  Open Wednesdays & Saturdays 10 am - noon; Mondays 4 pm- 6 pm.

We respond to national and global disaster through emergency relief efforts of the United Methodist Committee on Relief. We raised funds recently to support disasters in Haiti and Japan through an auction.

We provide school supplies for children through the Victor/Farmington Food Cupboard: pencils, composition notebooks, crayons, lined loose leaf paper, large pink erasers, pocket folders, scissors, glue sticks rulers, colored pencils, and pens (red, blue and black).

We are one of the churches who has helped to host the Community Dinner at the First Presbyterian Church, where the Victor community gathers for a meal.

We assist in the mission of Serenity House (a home in Victor for the specialized care of the terminally ill, their families and loved ones) through volunteer work and other services.

Our faith community shares with the Victor community annually on Hang Around Victor Day in September.
